Senior Software Engineer, Observability in USA

Responsibilities

  • Define the observability vision and roadmap with business partners and lead end-to-end project execution.
  • Own, maintain, and enhance scalable observability infrastructure and its features.
  • Architect next-generation systems capable of handling tens of billions of active time series and petabytes of log and tracing data daily.
  • Own the end-to-end availability and performance of critical services and reduce operational overhead.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help develop their technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience building, maintaining, and evolving large-scale distributed systems.
  • Understanding of the components required to build modern, large-scale infrastructure.
  • Experience owning the availability and performance of critical services.
  • Passion and ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A master's degree or higher is a plus.
  • Open source contributions and experience using AI technology for incident detection and mitigation are preferred.

Benefits

  • Hybrid role based at the San Mateo headquarters, with required office attendance Tuesday through Thursday and optional presence Monday and Friday.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and company benefits.

Salary: $243k - $295k/yr
