Senior Software Engineer II, Mobile in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and own the quality of premium Life360 features and services from design through production.
  • Build subscription tiering, pricing, packaging, paywalls, plan selection, upsell and upgrade flows, and one-time in-app purchase flows.
  • Own the quality, placement, mediation, performance, and stability of the mobile ads experience.
  • Partner with product, design, data science, and analytics to turn hypotheses into shipped work and inform subsequent decisions.
  • Use Claude Code or an equivalent AI tool to orchestrate specifications, code, tests, verification, and reviews.
  • Ship performant and reliable mobile experiences for more than 100 million users, focusing on startup time, memory, battery, ANR, and crash-free rates.
  • Contribute to architecture, code reviews, technical standards, team processes, and AI-native engineering practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for premium features and releases.
  • Mentor engineers and share effective AI development practices.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Android software engineering experience shipping production consumer apps at scale.
  • Cross-platform development experience, including at least 1 year of AI-assisted iOS development.
  • Experience with in-app billing and subscription platforms, including Google Play Billing and StoreKit.
  • Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose proficiency, Android View system experience, and familiarity with Android Studio, Kotlin Coroutines, and Flow.
  • Experience with MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Jetpack, ViewModel, Navigation, Hilt, or Dagger in large multi-team codebases.
  • Experience with feature flagging, A/B testing, exposure logging, holdouts, and guardrail metrics.
  • Experience diagnosing mobile performance, memory, battery, ANR, and crash issues.
  • Experience with Android CI/CD, Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar tools, and modular build systems.
  • Strong expertise in LLM-powered agentic systems, prompt engineering, context-window optimization, and MCP-based integrations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Mobile ad SDK and mediation experience, such as AdMob or AppLovin MAX, is optional.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms such as Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Eppo, or GrowthBook is optional.
  • Experience with mobile analytics pipelines such as Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake, or Databricks is optional.
  • Contributions to mobile open source or internal developer tooling are optional.
  • Clear communication of technical tradeoffs and willingness to use AI coding assistants for substantive daily engineering work are expected.
