Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate production AI-powered systems and agentic experiences such as Cart Assistant and voice AI.
  • Build foundational AI systems spanning embedding infrastructure, voice AI pipelines, client-facing components, and integrations.
  • Integrate foundation models through APIs and open-source frameworks and apply retrieval-augmented generation and vector search.
  • Own projects end to end from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iterative improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, ML, and Infrastructure teams to deliver AI features.
  • Drive engineering excellence through system design, code review, technical leadership, and AI/ML production-engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven senior software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating production systems at scale.
  • Hands-on production AI or ML experience, including shipping LLM-powered features or integrating foundation-model APIs into a live product.
  • Experience owning services end to end, including automated testing, observability, CI/CD, and on-call participation.
  • Experience with Golang, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred: 5 to 8+ years of industry experience.
  • Preferred: experience taking unconventional ideas from prototype through rapid iteration to production.
  • Preferred: experience with conversational agents, multi-turn dialogue systems, or agentic LLM applications.
  • Preferred: experience with STT/TTS, natural language interfaces, LLM fine-tuning, transfer learning, model training, and model-performance measurement.
  • Preferred: experience with embedding systems, vector search, or retrieval-augmented generation using vector databases.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven or distributed systems such as Kafka.
  • Preferred: demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership within cross-functional teams.
