Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate production AI-powered systems and agentic experiences such as Cart Assistant and voice AI.
Build foundational AI systems spanning embedding infrastructure, voice AI pipelines, client-facing components, and integrations.
Integrate foundation models through APIs and open-source frameworks and apply retrieval-augmented generation and vector search.
Own projects end to end from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iterative improvement.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, ML, and Infrastructure teams to deliver AI features.
Drive engineering excellence through system design, code review, technical leadership, and AI/ML production-engineering best practices.

Requirements

Proven senior software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating production systems at scale.
Hands-on production AI or ML experience, including shipping LLM-powered features or integrating foundation-model APIs into a live product.
Experience owning services end to end, including automated testing, observability, CI/CD, and on-call participation.
Experience with Golang, Python, or TypeScript.
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred: 5 to 8+ years of industry experience.
Preferred: experience taking unconventional ideas from prototype through rapid iteration to production.
Preferred: experience with conversational agents, multi-turn dialogue systems, or agentic LLM applications.
Preferred: experience with STT/TTS, natural language interfaces, LLM fine-tuning, transfer learning, model training, and model-performance measurement.
Preferred: experience with embedding systems, vector search, or retrieval-augmented generation using vector databases.
Preferred: experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven or distributed systems such as Kafka.
Preferred: demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership within cross-functional teams.
