Responsibilities

Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used across Braze.
Lead large projects end-to-end through technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through.
Improve developer experience in a large TypeScript and React codebase through abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples.
Build polished, accessible, performant, and consistent customer-facing product experiences.
Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams on cross-cutting frontend problems.
Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication.

Requirements

Have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong record of technical impact.
Be highly skilled in modern frontend development, especially TypeScript and React.
Have experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure.
Care about user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
Be comfortable working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders.
Communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and help raise the technical bar.
Bonus qualifications include experience with design systems, component libraries, Cypress, Jest, code generation, linting, codemods, developer tooling, internationalization, localization, accessibility, or Ruby on Rails.

Salary: $129k - $209k/yr
