Senior Software Engineer, GIS in USA

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to refine requirements and design and build solutions for defined business needs.
  • Contribute to software designs and models and follow coding standards and best practices.
  • Write, test, document, and implement technically sound application code.
  • Participate in and conduct code reviews.
  • Maintain existing applications by fixing bugs and enhancing functionality.
  • Ensure program, module, and system integrity through thorough testing.
  • Use new technologies and tools to enhance applications.
  • Guide less experienced team members through knowledge transfer and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or GIS, or comparable work experience.
  • Five years of experience designing and developing multi-tier browser-based applications.
  • Experience with the listed technology stack is preferred.
  • Enterprise GIS experience using ArcGIS Server and other ESRI technologies is highly desirable.
  • Python or other scripting-language experience is a plus.
  • Mobile application development and cloud-hosting experience are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile-based development environment.
