Senior Software Engineer, Backend in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
  • Design, develop, launch, and scale backend systems, real-time loan origination services, reporting platforms, and data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Identify and resolve project, process, technology, and business issues.
  • Monitor metrics, support system availability, escalate issues, and participate in on-call and operational efforts.
  • Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for engineering quality through writing and tech talks.
  • Develop talent by providing feedback, guidance, and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Experience with Python or Kotlin and highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Deep expertise designing and operating scalable backend data pipelines and batch-processing systems using Spark, Airflow, or similar distributed frameworks.
  • Experience defining technical plans and designing significant features or system components with simple, extensible architectures.
  • Proficiency making significant changes in large codebases and using tools and practices to do so safely.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking.
