Senior Software Engineer in Remote

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated security assurance programs covering certifications, applications, builds, cloud environments, supply chains, and internal tooling.
  • Develop security observability systems, automations, and methods that provide visibility into organizational security state.
  • Deploy security and compliance checks as developer-enabling guardrails and paved roads in workflows and build pipelines.
  • Integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle and operational processes.
  • Respond to customer security issues, security alerts, and potential incidents.
  • Collaborate with security, engineering, stakeholders, customers, and auditors.

Requirements

  • Production development experience with at least one programming language and the ability to discuss algorithms, data structures, optimization, and programming principles.
  • Experience using and securing containerized, cloud-native applications, ideally with Kubernetes; experience with multiple cloud providers is a strong plus.
  • Experience automating security and compliance processes with tools, scripts, and frameworks.
  • Understanding of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, or GDPR.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with peers, stakeholders, auditors, and customers.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Grafana Labs open-source projects, observability tooling, infrastructure-compliance automation, open-source communities, and securing large-scale distributed systems in public clouds.
