Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and support mission-critical cloud platform components for connected vehicle capabilities.
Own end-to-end delivery of distributed software services and supporting platform infrastructure.
Act as a domain owner for critical services, identifying risks, leading root-cause analysis, and improving reliability, observability, and performance.
Provide architectural guidance for scalable, resilient, secure distributed systems and influence engineering standards.
Build and operate large-scale microservices and cloud-native platforms using Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes/EKS, Kafka, PostgreSQL, gRPC, REST, and AWS.
Lead performance benchmarking, capacity planning, load testing, quality standards, and API scalability efforts.
Own monitoring, tracing, logging, metrics, alerting, incident response, operational readiness, and SLA adherence.
Drive platform modernization, architectural improvements, technical roadmaps, design reviews, and best practices.
Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, operations, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating production-grade distributed microservices.
8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
5+ years of experience with Kafka and real-time data streaming architectures.
5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, primarily AWS, with openness to GCP.
3+ years of experience with API design and development using REST, gRPC, JSON, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Concourse, and GitHub.
3+ years of operational experience with monitoring, telemetry, and incident response tools, including primary and secondary on-call rotations.
Preferred experience includes GCP or AWS-to-GCP migrations, Tyk API Gateways, telemetry and metrics platforms, and automotive, connected vehicle, telematics, or high-criticality IoT streaming.
Pacific Time Zone or Texas/Central region location is preferred.
