Responsibilities

Design and implement response-generation and orchestration pipelines for AI agents.
Develop retrieval and knowledge-grounding systems for accurate conversational data.
Build multi-step tool orchestration workflows and handle third-party API failures.
Create evaluation frameworks, observability controls, tracing, and debugging systems for complex pipelines.
Develop interfaces that allow nontechnical stakeholders to adjust agent behavior.
Extend AI systems to voice conversations with real-time transcription and tool use.
Optimize speed and cost through routing, caching, and prompt refinement.
Own infrastructure, data pipelines, integrations, and API work supporting the platform.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience and a track record of shipping production systems.
Experience across the full stack, including backend, frontend, data pipelines, or infrastructure.
Strong background in retrieval pipelines, knowledge grounding, or multi-step workflows.
Familiarity with AI model selection, routing, prompt optimization, and cost or latency considerations.
Experience building observability, tracing, and debugging for complex pipelines.
Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, Rust, or Java.
Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs and handling production failure modes.
Strong communication skills and ability to influence product decisions.

Benefits

Annual salary range of $130,000-$220,000 USD.
Equity offered.
