Senior Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver software-enabled solutions deployed to customers, optimizing for end-user value.
  • Design and implement scalable software with an architecture and capability path for future evolution.
  • Develop software running on and off robotic platforms across autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and command-and-control applications.
  • Design, implement, and execute development processes covering lifecycle testing, monitoring, operation, and sustainment of vehicle and mission software.
  • Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures.
  • Own software services through requirements definition, roadmap management, stakeholder engagement, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment.
  • Collaborate on reusable software components across Anduril product lines and work in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Mentor software engineers and contribute as a technical lead.
  • Travel up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer with expertise in one or more domains or technologies.
  • Systems and application programming skills in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems.
  • Ability to work holistically across the software stack and through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment lifecycles.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a software service, including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmaps, coordination, implementation, and evolution.
  • Ability to learn and grow while mentoring junior team members and building team cohesion.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred: senior-level delivery experience for military mission systems.
  • Preferred: backend services or embedded software experience with C++, Rust, and/or Go.
  • Preferred: frontend application experience with TypeScript and React.
  • Preferred: experience designing and operating horizontally scaled cloud technologies.
  • Preferred: embedded robotics software, modeling and simulation, high-assurance safety-critical software, and product delivery lifecycle experience.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts and interest in progressing toward Staff Software Engineer, Software Engineering Manager, or Tech-Lead-Manager responsibilities.
