Senior Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Develop features that improve the performance, reliability, and security of the Akamai Cloud Platform.
  • Port Akamai modifications to newer Linux kernel versions.
  • Debug and fix issues in complex test and production environments.
  • Enhance build and test automation for continuous testing.
  • Collaborate with platform, application, testing, and hardware development teams.
  • Upstream work to the open-source community and track Linux kernel and operating-system changes.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of software development experience in C focused on Linux kernel development, plus scripting experience with Perl, Python, or Shell.
  • Solid understanding of Linux kernel internals and experience with Linux kernel debugging.
  • Experience with at least two of memory management, filesystems, block I/O, TCP/IP stack, or KVM.
  • Working knowledge of concurrent programming, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, and network protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, Ethernet, QUIC, HTTP, and TLS.
  • Strong collaboration, independent-work, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
