Responsibilities

  • Own discrete platform modules end to end and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Build proofs of concept and working prototypes to validate technical approaches and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
  • Design, develop, and ship production-grade Python components for orchestration pipelines, RAG systems, LLM integrations, and MCP-based tool interfaces.
  • Apply engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring.
  • Build and maintain secure integrations with internal data sources, external APIs, and LLM providers in compliance with data governance and security standards.
  • Track emerging generative AI and LLM tools and techniques and bring relevant approaches to the team.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts, stakeholders, and geographically distributed engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping complex, scalable software systems to production.
  • Deep proficiency in Python and its ecosystem of backend development and data-processing libraries.
  • Knowledge of generative AI concepts including LLMs, RAG, MCP, and agentic platforms such as Google ADK.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SQL/databases, Unix-based environments, and containerized environments.
  • Ability to contribute to technical direction and champion engineering best practices.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Experience with Java or C++ is preferred.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and user-interface development for technical workflows is preferred.
  • Financial services, quantitative finance, risk management, or Model Risk Management experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of market or credit risk model development lifecycles and related requirements such as SR 11-7, CCAR, or CECL is preferred.
  • Experience building auditable and compliant software in highly regulated environments is preferred.
