Senior Mobile Engineer - React Native in Australia new

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve React Native experiences across banking, invoicing, payments, notifications, tasks, and file management workflows.
  • Own complex mobile features end to end, including technical design, implementation, release, measurement, and ongoing production operation.
  • Contribute to a modern, scalable React Native architecture and establish effective development patterns.
  • Ensure software availability, performance, accuracy, security, and scalability while participating in incident response and post-mortems.
  • Improve engineering efficiency through automation, AI-assisted development, and removal of technical friction.
  • Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and raise engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Strong demonstrable experience building and shipping production mobile applications with React Native.
  • Understanding of mobile software at scale, including performance, reliability, release management, observability, and production incidents.
  • Experience owning complex mobile features from technical design through release and ongoing operation.
  • Experience working across mobile and backend systems, APIs, or Backend-for-Frontend patterns is highly valuable.
  • Experience shipping software to large, active user bases and making architecture decisions for scaling systems and usage.
  • Pragmatic technical decision-making that balances delivery speed, customer impact, system health, and maintainability.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers with tangible outcomes.
  • Active use of AI-assisted development, automation, and modern engineering tooling.
