Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS) in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement complex iOS product features that significantly affect customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Architect, lead, and optimize mobile infrastructure for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define and evolve robust, efficient, and documented APIs for mobile-to-server communication.
  • Champion engineering best practices for code quality, system design, and operational excellence.
  • Drive strategic technical initiatives and provide architectural guidance and solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Architect and oversee unit, integration, and UI automation testing strategies for feature quality and stability.
  • Define and analyze performance indicators using advanced analytics to measure feature effectiveness and guide product improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience, including significant mobile development experience and a record of leading complex projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Swift and deep expertise in modern iOS paradigms including Combine, Swift Concurrency, and SwiftUI.
  • Extensive understanding of iOS application architectures such as MVVM, MVP, and VIPER, including their trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to architect scalable and maintainable mobile solutions.
  • Some experience mentoring and guiding other engineers.
  • Familiarity with Android development and cross-platform technologies is a strong plus.
  • Participation in the broader iOS development community, such as open-source contributions or conference presentations, is a plus.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or LLMs.
