Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Others

Responsibilities

  • Improve core speech stack components such as speech recognition, speaker diarization, voice activity detection, principal speaker detection, language detection, and custom vocabulary.
  • Design and improve speech systems for noisy rooms, overlapping speech, telehealth calls, and multilingual conversations.
  • Optimize real-time streaming pipelines for latency, accuracy, cost, robustness, and reliability.
  • Define and refine speech evaluation metrics covering WER, DER, latency, multilingual performance, and production monitoring.
  • Improve speech datasets, annotation processes, and continuous learning loops using production feedback.
  • Collaborate with product, machine learning, and infrastructure engineers to integrate speech systems with note-generation and agentic workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with speech and audio machine learning systems, including ASR, diarization, VAD, or multilingual speech models.
  • Strong understanding of real-time or streaming machine learning systems and optimization for latency and reliability.
  • Experience with transformer-based or hybrid speech architectures such as wav2vec2, Whisper-like systems, or conformers.
  • Knowledge of audio preprocessing, feature extraction, and robustness techniques.
  • Strong Python skills and experience deploying machine learning systems in production.
  • Ability to design and evaluate experiments using rigorous speech metrics such as WER, DER, latency, and robustness benchmarks.
  • Strong product mindset and fluency in English.
  • Preferred experience with multilingual speech systems, language detection, healthcare or other high-reliability domains, and edge or resource-constrained inference.
