Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and continuously improve QA activities for complex data platforms and cloud-based ecosystems.
  • Perform end-to-end ETL, data workflow, functional, integration, system, regression, API, and integration testing.
  • Validate extraction, transformation, loading, reconciliation, business rules, data quality, completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Use advanced SQL to validate joins, aggregations, transformations, mappings, and root causes of data quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain reusable test automation utilities and frameworks using Python, PySpark, and Pandas where possible.
  • Test data pipelines and integrations across Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Gen2, and Azure DevOps.
  • Manage the complete defect lifecycle, including identification, root-cause analysis, prioritization, fix verification, and closure.
  • Report test progress, results, quality metrics, risks, dependencies, blockers, and outstanding defects to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Identify quality risks, monitor mitigation measures, support quality governance, and promote continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer, Data QA Engineer, Data Test Engineer, ETL Test Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrable ETL testing or Big Data testing experience and strong hands-on manual testing experience.
  • Experience with BI and reporting validation, data validation, data reconciliation, and the complete end-to-end testing lifecycle.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and good knowledge of ETL frameworks and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, Pandas, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure DevOps, and Postman.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, ownership, accountability, and risk-management skills.
  • Experience with or strong interest in AI-driven testing and intelligent test automation is an advantage.
