Responsibilities

Develop backend services and APIs for the Ion robotic fleet and related application workflows.
Build customer-facing web applications and coordinate with design and product teams on user experiences.
Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing within CI pipelines.
Contribute to CI/CD, observability, health endpoints, uptime monitoring, and operational support.
Design documented, versioned, backward-compatible GraphQL, REST, or gRPC APIs.
Collaborate with embedded, infrastructure, data, security, and quality teams to deliver compliant and data-driven solutions.
Troubleshoot production issues and participate in incident management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
At least 6 years of relevant software engineering experience, including backend services or API development.
Strong experience with backend services and APIs using TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.
Strong frontend development experience with modern frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Svelte.
Experience with relational databases, service-side data modeling, and transactional system design.
Experience with automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS-based backend deployment.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS.
Understanding of distributed systems, reliability, failure handling, observability, and operational support.
Strong troubleshooting, incident management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Preferred experience includes medical devices or regulated industries, data privacy requirements, third-party and EMR integrations, and mobile application development.
