Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and support high-quality Proton Pass user experiences and features across browser extensions, web applications, and desktop applications.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, product owners, designers, QA, and other engineers to deliver initiatives from ideation through completion.
  • Break large initiatives into smaller milestones to gather stakeholder feedback quickly.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback focused on code quality, maintainability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement unit-testing and end-to-end testing strategies to ensure product reliability.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated frontend expertise with deep technical knowledge of browser internals, extension APIs, and desktop application frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Proficiency with TypeScript or type-safe programming paradigms.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and CI/CD.
  • Product mindset focused on delivering strong user experiences.
  • Experience working in a distributed team.
  • Preferred experience includes MV3 browser extensions, Electron or similar desktop frameworks, browser extensions, cross-platform web applications, service-worker architectures, WebAssembly, Rust, event-driven systems, application monitoring, accessibility, localization, and cryptography concepts.
