Senior Frontend Engineer in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Design and build reusable, high-quality frontend components across Faire’s web surfaces.
  • Champion accessibility and performance best practices for shared components.
  • Establish and maintain testing strategies and quality gates for the design system.
  • Partner with engineers across the company to drive adoption and evolve the shared system.
  • Contribute to the technical direction of frontend architecture.
  • Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate the design process.
  • Mentor engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and raise frontend engineering quality.
  • Lead technical projects from conception through execution and influence technical direction beyond the immediate team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience building or maintaining a design system, component library, or shared UI platform used by multiple product teams.
  • Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Design and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Ability to lead technical projects and influence technical direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Competitive base pay of $160,000–$220,000 per year in Canada, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.
