Senior Data Engineer [GROWTH] in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of data pipelines.
  • Build and maintain scalable data solutions for HelloFresh’s global platform and Growth Alliance.
  • Optimize data pipeline performance and reliability.
  • Apply data quality assurance, monitoring, testing, continuous integration, and application tuning practices.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Product Owners, software engineers, analysts, and business intelligence teams.
  • Provide technical support, mentorship, coaching, and practical knowledge to colleagues and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Solid data engineering experience designing, implementing, and delivering maintainable, high-quality Python and SQL code.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing and data processing technologies including PySpark, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
  • Expertise in data modeling, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, object stores such as AWS S3, and data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Proven experience building efficient and robust data pipelines and optimizing their performance.
  • Experience with end-to-end development processes, including unit, integration, and functional testing, application tuning and profiling, and continuous integration.
  • Extensive experience with agile methodologies, delivery, lean thinking, and rapid iteration.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate, learn continuously, and mentor team members.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce and subscription-based businesses is preferred.
  • Interest in using AI tools to improve collaboration and execution.
