Senior Data Engineer in Others

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant batch and streaming data processing systems handling tens of terabytes of daily ingestion and petabyte-scale warehouses.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines, data models, transformations, and data-quality solutions that support self-service analytics.
  • Own data mapping, business logic, data quality, and resilience to poor-quality source data.
  • Debug low-level systems and optimize performance on large production clusters.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, influence the product roadmap, own new projects, and maintain existing platforms while adopting newer technologies and architectures.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, operations, and other cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience as a data engineer.
  • Extensive SQL skills and proficiency in Python or another scripting language, with Python required.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as HDFS, YARN, Map-Reduce, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, and Presto.
  • Proficiency designing, implementing, and optimizing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science required; a Master of Science in Computer Science is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, and Looker is a plus.
  • AI literacy or an AI growth mindset.
