Senior Backend Engineer - Device Platform in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead major Device Platform features end-to-end, including the IoT core, device-metrics platform, and licensing ledger.
  • Architect, ship, and communicate backend systems that provide consistency, low latency, and high uptime at scale.
  • Lead operational improvements that increase system robustness, reduce pager noise, and improve incident learning.
  • Drive design reviews, code reviews, written technical communication, and direct mentorship.
  • Listen to engineering teams and help shape shared technical direction and the platform roadmap.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building backend services with consistency, latency, and uptime guarantees at scale.
  • Fluency in at least one server-side language; Python or Go is preferred, while Ruby or JavaScript with Node.js is also welcome.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, shape shared technical direction, and ship dependable platform changes.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for FedRAMP compliance.
  • Must be able to work onsite five days per week.
