Senior Backend Engineer

Senior Backend Engineer in USA new

  • San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities

  • Own projects from design through launch across established and new products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to determine what to build and how to build it.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and balance short-term delivery with long-term architecture.
  • Build fast, accessible user interfaces and own frontend performance.
  • Maintain strong engineering practices including code review, test coverage, and observability.
  • Work with designers to turn early concepts into shipped products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building production software at scale.
  • Deep JavaScript experience with a modern frontend framework.
  • Demonstrated experience improving frontend performance and accessibility.
  • Product-minded approach with concern for user problems as well as implementation.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and rapid change.
  • AI/LLM product experience and startup experience are nice to have.
