Senior Backend Application Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build scalable, fault-tolerant web services and ETL pipelines.
  • Design high-performance systems supporting 10K+ transactions per second and hundreds of thousands of transactions per second.
  • Develop new platform features for critical organizations and optimize existing systems.
  • Create monitoring, testing, and deployment strategies for mission-critical services.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to resolve issues and integrate new technologies.
  • Help define engineering standards and recruit and onboard engineering colleagues.
  • Communicate technical concepts and product direction internally and externally.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on web services and ETL systems.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling high-volume, data-intensive systems.
  • Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud architectures.
  • Familiarity with containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, MongoDB, Go, and Python, with the ability to quickly learn applicable languages.
  • Experience supporting external customers through commercial SaaS or on-premises software products.
  • Experience in early-stage B2B SaaS technology startups.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience with MongoDB and other data stores, AI/ML, LLMs, model tuning, information security, red teaming, cybersecurity, and SCA, DAST, SAST, or other DevSecOps tooling.

Salary: $150k - $210k/yr
