Responsibilities

  • Design a greenfield AWS data lake architecture, schemas, and data contracts with upstream HR and talent systems while supporting PIPA compliance.
  • Consolidate relocation, visa, vendor, and payroll source systems into a unified and reliable ETL architecture.
  • Build multi-country data logic and routing engines for operations across Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and other regions.
  • Enable operational BI, analytical reporting, and process automation for global mobility, payroll, and compliance teams.
  • Create data quality frameworks, validation rules, monitoring, and automated alerting for production pipelines.
  • Own technical execution, infrastructure provisioning, tooling selection, architecture decision records, and operational runbooks.
  • Balance the Q3 go-live target with long-term architectural integrity, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of production software engineering experience with an SDE background.
  • Deep expertise in Python or Java, AWS infrastructure, and database design.
  • At least 1 year of experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines and using orchestration tools such as Airflow or Temporal.
  • Experience with system architecture, dynamic schema design, data validation, pipeline observability, and end-to-end production ownership.
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy standards, security requirements, and cross-functional stakeholder priorities.
  • Preferred qualifications include handling sensitive PII, experience with Coupang’s technology stack or multi-region deployments, and taking greenfield technical projects through production.
