Senior AI Systems Engineer in Australia

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy AI systems that solve customer problems and produce measurable business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the scalable and operationally efficient AI agent platform.
  • Design and deploy distributed, event-driven applications in production environments.
  • Manage secure, isolated container runtimes using OCI specifications.
  • Evaluate AI systems using representative data, graders, production signals, and human judgment.
  • Define technical approaches involving systems design, reliability, observability, latency, cost, safety, security, and governance.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers, full stack engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Own system quality, performance, customer impact, and post-release support.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or machine learning engineering.
  • Proven expertise with OCI specifications and hands-on experience managing secure, isolated container runtimes.
  • Hands-on experience architecting and deploying distributed, event-driven production applications.
  • Highly proficient in Python and comfortable working in multi-language systems.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate strategic objectives into technical direction and execution.
  • Preferred familiarity with LangChain, OpenAI SDK, or Google ADK.
  • Experience with C# and React is highly advantageous.
  • Preferred understanding of systematic AI evaluation and experience developing and launching agentic AI products to customers.
