Security Software Engineering Intern 2027 in USA

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable distributed systems capable of handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of deployed devices.
  • Work with Redis, DynamoDB, Postgres, Kafka, and SQS for storage, databases, logging, and message passing.
  • Deploy services using Terraform and Kubernetes.
  • Develop large-scale systems for remotely interacting with and configuring products.
  • Define and improve low-latency, high-throughput, high-reliability microservice architectures.
  • Design and develop features incorporating computer vision.
  • Design clean APIs and implement them using Python and/or Go.

Requirements

  • Be able to work on-site at Verkada headquarters in San Mateo, California during winter or summer 2027.
  • Be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field and graduate by June 2028.
  • Have prior internship experience developing and launching products.
  • Be familiar with Python or Golang, distributed systems, operating systems, AWS, and Docker.
  • Be comfortable working in an agile software development environment.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and Linux servers is a plus.
