Robotics Full Stack Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Build reliable, debuggable, understandable software bridging robot controls and XR.
  • Interface directly with hardware SDKs for robot sensing, control, and data collection.
  • Create low-latency, predictive data-streaming pipelines over unreliable WiFi and cellular networks.
  • Build systems supporting motion retargeting and robot control.
  • Develop scalable monitoring, metrics, and alerting infrastructure for a growing robot fleet.
  • Optimize rendering pipelines to preserve operator feedback fidelity, latency, and frame rate.
  • Develop controls algorithms connecting the operator to the robot.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of software experience with a strong systems engineering background.
  • Exceptional production-level Rust experience.
  • Experience as a system architect and API designer.
  • Solid Python skills for tooling, test harnesses, and automation.
  • Deep understanding of low-level networking, including TCP/IP, UDP, WiFi, cellular, and BLE, with experience optimizing latency-sensitive protocols.
  • Deep Linux experience, including embedded environments.
  • Experience integrating hardware SDKs.
  • Strong ownership and communication skills, with the ability to work across hardware, firmware, and XR engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with rendering optimization and preserving data fidelity under constrained compute or bandwidth is a bonus.
  • Working knowledge of robotic control concepts such as kinematics, motion retargeting, and sensor integration is a bonus.
  • Experience with low-level graphics or rendering pipelines is a bonus.
  • Experience teleoperating robots or controlling physical systems is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with Nix or Bazel is a bonus.
  • Open-source contributions, especially in robotics or systems software, are a bonus.
  • XR or embedded Linux development experience is a bonus.
