Responsibilities

  • Define the data validation, automation, and quality roadmap with Data Engineering and Product leadership.
  • Design and execute complex tests for backend data systems, transformations, distributed-system logic, and batch or stream processing.
  • Develop, maintain, and extend scalable data automation frameworks and data quality monitoring suites.
  • Use AI-powered tools and LLMs to prototype test suites, diagnose failures, generate validation scenarios, and maintain automation.
  • Establish QA best practices, coding standards, and code review processes for the automation team.
  • Champion automation-first data quality practices and reduce reliance on manual testing and reconciliation.
  • Manage release readiness and make final Go/No-Go delivery decisions for data features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7–10 years of Software Quality Assurance experience leading end-to-end testing across the software and data lifecycle.
  • Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational databases for validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data warehouse architecture, and OLAP technologies such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  • Strong Python proficiency, including the ability to read, understand, and debug data pipeline code.
  • Experience designing and implementing QA automation frameworks, test suites, and CI/CD-integrated testing pipelines.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools such as Augment, Cursor, or Gemini for test authoring, debugging, maintenance, and data documentation.
  • Experience managing the full release cycle for data features through final Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to work independently in Agile teams.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
