Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design and technical direction for scalable systems spanning multiple teams.
  • Set standards for AI-native development, including coaching engineers on AI coding assistants, agentic development tools, and AI-assisted code review.
  • Introduce architectural patterns and engineering standards adopted across the organization.
  • Define code review, quality, reliability, security, and operational standards.
  • Own strategic technical direction and multi-quarter roadmaps for the platform area.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews and architectural discussions.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact between the Bangalore team and Xometry’s global engineering leadership.
  • Establish engineering practices and help build a high-performing India PDT team.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience and a track record leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives.
  • Deep expertise with Python for backend services and APIs, React/TypeScript for frontend development, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on fluency with modern AI development tools and demonstrated success using them to improve delivery speed and quality.
  • Significant experience with system architecture, microservices design, and distributed systems operating across teams or organizational boundaries.
  • A track record of creating architectural patterns adopted as organizational standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders across geographies and time zones.
