Principal Mobile Engineer (POS Terminal) in Remote new

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of POS terminal solutions across platforms, including security, scalability, performance, and hardware and payment-system integration.
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation and diagrams for POS terminal systems.
  • Make architectural decisions involving payment technologies, EMV standards, hardware compatibility, and payment processing.
  • Lead development of POS-related applications, including Android Native and mobile applications for repair scheduling and maintenance.
  • Optimize payment-processing performance and security and ensure POS product stability and reliability.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce software engineering best practices for mobile and embedded systems development.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align technical solutions with market and business goals.
  • Mentor engineers, improve team processes and developer productivity, and participate in hiring POS, mobile, and embedded engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in system design, architecture, and development in the POS terminal domain.
  • Strong Android Native development expertise using Java or Kotlin, including Android-based POS terminal solutions.
  • Experience with cross-platform mobile development such as Flutter and familiarity with C and JavaScript for POS application platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of EMV security protocols, chip-based transactions, encryption, and key management.
  • Experience integrating POS hardware such as card readers, PIN pads, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Deep understanding of payment systems architecture and integrations with payment processors and gateways.
  • Knowledge of software quality assurance principles and their application in financial systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, mentoring, and process-improvement abilities.
