Principal Mobile Engineer (POS Terminal) in Remote new

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of POS terminal solutions across platforms, including hardware and payment-system integration.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documents and diagrams for POS terminal systems.
  • Make software architecture decisions involving payment technologies, EMV standards, and hardware compatibility.
  • Lead development of POS-related applications, including mobile applications for repair scheduling and maintenance.
  • Optimize payment-processing performance and security, including EMV protocols, and ensure product stability and reliability.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices for mobile and embedded systems development.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align technical solutions with market and business goals.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, mentor engineers, drive process improvements, and participate in hiring.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in POS terminal system design, architecture, and development.
  • Strong Android Native development expertise using Java or Kotlin, with deep knowledge of Android-based POS solutions.
  • Experience with cross-platform mobile development such as Flutter; familiarity with C and JavaScript POS platforms is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of EMV security protocols, chip-based transactions, encryption, and key management.
  • Experience integrating POS hardware such as card readers, pin pads, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Deep understanding of payment-system architecture and integrations with payment processors and gateways.
  • Knowledge of software quality assurance principles and their application in financial systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, mentoring, and process-improvement abilities.
