Responsibilities

Design and build Starshield security infrastructure, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services.
Develop security features for Starshield routers, dishes, gateways, satellites, and related systems.
Design security into factory processes and provide supporting network services.
Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through direct implementation and recommendations to other teams.
Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline.
Experience with one or more software development languages, such as Python, C++, or Golang.
Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or enterprise-scale infrastructure.
Graduation in the class of 2026 or 2027.
Preferred experience contributing security improvements to complex systems.
Preferred experience with trusted platform modules (TPMs) and hardware security modules (HSMs).
Preferred fundamental understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP and UDP-based protocols.
Preferred ability to navigate large, complex, interactive systems and learn new technologies quickly.
An advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
An active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance is preferred.
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Must successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
Must satisfy applicable ITAR requirements or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Benefits

Base salary range is $130,000.00-$160,000.00 for Level 1 and $150,000.00-$195,000.00 for Level 2.
Potential eligibility for company stock or long-term cash awards, discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Employees with an active clearance may receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $20,000 annually, once briefed into a classified program.
The role may require extended hours and weekend work, and employment is contingent on obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret Security Clearance.
