Localization Systems Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Own algorithm and test requirements capture, reviews, and revisions for the localization team.
  • Write and maintain simulation and track-test scenarios, including scenarios validating critical safety functions.
  • Write and own Hardware-in-the-Loop testing for localization systems.
  • Champion unit-test coverage across the localization codebase.
  • Develop systems-level solutions that unblock localization algorithm and hardware work.
  • Coordinate localization and safety algorithm configuration with neighboring teams.
  • Participate in code reviews and requirements reviews.

Requirements

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama and with structuring unit, simulation, track, and Hardware-in-the-Loop test coverage.
  • Familiarity with safety qualification standards related to localization accuracy.
  • MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related systems engineering field, with relevant demonstrable experience.
  • Strong background in localization algorithms or estimation theory, including Kalman filtering and/or pose-graph optimization, is desired.
  • Familiarity with LIDAR- and computer-vision-based localization, mapping, and calibration is desired; radar experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in C++ sufficient to understand and navigate the localization team's source code is desired.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and willing to work in detail and change approaches based on feedback.
