Lead Software Engineer - Back End in Others new

Responsibilities

  • Own the full product lifecycle from business requirements and technology selection through coding, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational excellence.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend platforms, scalable data pipelines, and storage solutions across fintech.
  • Build stable, scalable, and highly performant systems for financial technology applications.
  • Develop and optimize systems supporting complex data collection, processing, analysis, payments, reconciliation, tax, and payout workflows.
  • Mentor engineers and help improve code quality across the team and wider organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance product and technology goals.
  • Lead projects, initiatives, and teams with full ownership of the systems involved.
  • Recruit and onboard exceptional talent.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing high-performance production applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and real-time processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
  • Experience with operational excellence, metrics, alarms, dashboards, and metrics-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Preferred experience in modern fintech or payments organizations and domains such as reconciliation, financial reporting, tax, virtual credit cards, or customer payments.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with Spark, ETL data pipelines, Kafka, RabbitMQ, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience developing, maintaining, and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
  • Preferred experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams with full system ownership.
