Responsibilities

Develop and test new product features for next-generation sports medicine products.
Work with a small team of Electrical and Software Engineers on research and development activities.
Collaborate with managers to complete specifically identified internship projects.
Present project conclusions to senior leadership.
Create documentation required by the Smith+Nephew Quality Management System.

Requirements

Be enrolled in an undergraduate Engineering program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited university.
Be at least a junior and have completed Basic Electrical Engineering and/or programming courses.
A major GPA of 3.50 or above is preferred.
Previous applicable internship, part-time, or apprenticeship experience is preferred.
School projects involving embedded systems, C/C++, and/or FPGA are preferred.
Have design experience with electrical and/or software engineering concepts and basic understanding of testing electrical or software designs.
Exposure to computer vision concepts, applications, or academic projects is preferred.
Interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for engineering or medical technology applications is preferred.
Familiarity with image signal processing fundamentals, including image enhancement, analysis, or algorithm development, is preferred.
Experience in the medical device field or another regulated field is preferred.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, technical writing, analytical problem-solving, learning agility, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
