Intermediate Software Engineer (Frontend/UI) in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable UI microfrontends and reusable React components.
  • Build modern, AI-enhanced user experiences in collaboration with UI/UX designers.
  • Use React, JavaScript, and TypeScript to build frontend applications and work with services and APIs across the broader technology stack.
  • Participate in GitHub development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, feedback resolution, and code-quality improvements.
  • Write and maintain unit and end-to-end tests while contributing to strong testing and development practices.
  • Deliver features from development through production with engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
  • Use Claude and GCP Gemini Code Assist to support coding, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, and daily development workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant software engineering experience building and delivering modern web applications.
  • Strong experience with React, modern JavaScript or TypeScript, and common state management approaches.
  • Exposure to microfrontend architectures or reusable component libraries is preferred.
  • Comfort using AI development tools such as Claude and GCP Gemini Code Assist.
  • Understanding of web accessibility principles and WCAG guidelines.
  • Experience writing unit tests and working with modern UI and end-to-end testing frameworks; familiarity with TDD is preferred.
  • Strong frontend programming skills and willingness to work with technologies such as Python and Go when needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical software development experience.

Salary: $96k - $130k/yr
