GNC Software Engineer (Civil Aviation) in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design algorithms to track and plan trajectories for thousands of aircraft operating in the National Airspace System.
  • Design, analyze, and implement real-time software for monitoring and controlling complex airspace.
  • Apply knowledge of state estimation, physics, aircraft design, optimization, and algorithms to civil aviation systems.
  • Use Monte Carlo analysis to validate and tune algorithm performance.
  • Collaborate across teams in a mission-critical environment.
  • Leverage modern LLM tools to accelerate development workflows and enhance code quality.

Requirements

  • Experience designing algorithms for mission-critical applications.
  • Expertise in core GNC domains, including state estimation and algorithm design.
  • Experience with Monte Carlo analysis for algorithm validation and tuning.
  • Experience in aviation or related fields involving modeled and controlled physical systems.
  • Experience with modern programming languages such as Rust and Python.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a mission-critical environment.
  • Proficiency leveraging modern LLM tools to accelerate development workflows and improve code quality.

Salary: $200k - $265k/yr
