Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, high-performance software solutions.
  • Modernize core platforms and shape technology products to meet future business requirements.
  • Build backend services using Java, Spring Boot, JPA, REST, microservices, and database technologies.
  • Implement unit testing, secure coding practices, code reviews, and quality-focused development processes.
  • Deploy and support applications using cloud-native platforms, DevSecOps tools, messaging systems, and application development tooling.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other business functions to define requirements and solution strategies.
  • Manage risk, strengthen controls, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • Lead teams or guide team members through complex collaborative assignments, depending on the role structure.

Requirements

  • Experience with Java, Spring Boot, JPA, JUnit, REST, microservices, and test-driven development.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitLab, Jira, SonarQube, Prisma, Wiz, Maven, or Gradle.
  • Working knowledge of messaging systems such as Apache Kafka and IBM MQ.
  • Experience with rapid application development using AI models such as Claude and GitLab Duo.
  • A Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of Computer Science, object-oriented design, and data structures.
  • Payments-domain experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Ability to apply secure coding, testing, risk management, collaboration, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
