Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React, React Native, and TypeScript.
  • Implement high-fidelity mobile UI designs, responsive layouts, push notifications, deep linking, and offline data persistence.
  • Optimize mobile application performance for smooth animations and fast load times across different hardware.
  • Integrate the Medplum React Native SDK for authentication and clinical data synchronization.
  • Interface with FHIR resources such as Patient, Appointment, and DocumentReference to display and capture health information.
  • Implement biometric authentication, encrypted local storage, and HIPAA-compliant mobile data handling.
  • Coordinate with backend and web teams to maintain feature parity across platforms.
  • Manage mobile deployment pipelines and releases through App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
  • Write documented, testable code and implement unit and end-to-end tests for critical patient workflows.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions involving mobile state management and data caching.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional mobile development experience.
  • Expertise in React architecture, bridge/JSI, and performance tuning.
  • Strong mastery of TypeScript and modern JavaScript ES6+.
  • Experience with AI SLDC.
  • Experience with mobile state management libraries such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query.
  • Proven experience shipping and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Knowledge of mobile-first styling and responsive layouts for different screen sizes and orientations.
  • Preferred experience with FHIR R4 resources and the Medplum ecosystem.
  • Preferred experience with Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java for native modules.
  • Deep understanding of OAuth2/OIDC and mobile security best practices in healthcare.
  • Experience with Figma and a strong eye for mobile-first user experience.
