Responsibilities

  • Develop accessible, user-centered front-end web applications and tools using React and TypeScript.
  • Coordinate UI/UX designers and back-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Implement performance improvements such as code splitting, lazy loading, and Lighthouse-based optimization.
  • Write and maintain automated front-end unit, component, and end-to-end tests.
  • Mentor teammates, guide development teams in new tools and techniques, and participate in positive code reviews.
  • Gather user requirements, inform UI designs, and solve complex problems in cross-functional teams.
  • Apply WCAG 508 accessibility practices and meet security requirements.
  • Work in Git-based workflows with pull request reviews, branching strategies, and continuous integration checks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development using front-end programming languages and web development stacks, or 8+ years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, unless qualifying experience is used in lieu of the degree.
  • Experience with TypeScript and front-end development.
  • Experience writing automated tests with tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques and user requirement gathering for UI design.
  • Ability to apply accessibility best practices beyond basic WCAG 508 requirements.
  • Experience with collaborative, cross-functional development and Git-based workflows.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
  • Preferred experience includes AWS, Terraform, cloud-native front-end architectures, Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, Emotion, Sass, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, API integration, UX heuristics, and automated testing maintenance.
