Responsibilities

Build firmware and software platforms for host/client verification of product form, fit, and function.
Develop low-level firmware for microcontrollers interfacing with robots and control algorithms for off-the-shelf data acquisition tools.
Create device-side validation capabilities for system-level features using SSH and gRPC.
Debug issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries and automate test and failure-analysis procedures.
Participate in DFT and DFM reviews with electrical engineering and product firmware teams.
Improve manufacturing test automation, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
At least 5 years of professional industry experience.
Strong C programming ability for embedded systems.
Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors.
Experience developing firmware in bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments.
Understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging.
Familiarity with USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, and similar bus protocols.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: 8 years of professional industry experience, bring-up and debugging expertise for new designs, and familiarity with low- and high-speed interfaces.
Preferred: strong data acquisition and analysis fundamentals, including FFT, Bode analysis, and control loops.
Preferred: experience with ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, or other microcontroller cores.
Preferred: embedded Linux development and deployment experience and debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
