Embedded Software Engineer Intern in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement embedded software for Skydio drones and accessory product lines.
  • Characterize, integrate, and validate subsystems including cameras, radios, and flight controllers.
  • Bring up and debug new hardware.
  • Write interfaces and drivers for sensors, cameras, and other devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to build foundational systems for Skydio products.

Requirements

  • Be a junior, senior, or MS-level college student for the Winter 2027 internship season.
  • Have practical experience writing firmware or embedded code for a physical device.
  • Be proficient in C++ for embedded systems and Python for testing, experimentation, and tool development.
  • Write clean code with appropriate abstraction boundaries and investigate complex problems with ownership.
  • Read schematics and use standard debugging equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Embedded Linux userspace or kernel development experience is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of debugging systems at the ARM assembly level is a bonus.
