Responsibilities

  • Design, build, harden, and operate CI/CD systems, cloud infrastructure, and container platforms.
  • Partner with project teams to embed security controls and automate secure delivery workflows.
  • Build MVPs, reusable templates, and implementation patterns for multiple database technologies.
  • Design, tune, and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, Oracle, MongoDB, and AWS RDS-based services.
  • Support database migration, backup, replication, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery activities.
  • Implement secure software delivery practices aligned with DoD, IC, RMF, ICD-503, NIST SP 800-53, STIG, and continuous monitoring requirements.
  • Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP using infrastructure-as-code.
  • Integrate automated security checks, optimize delivery pipelines, and support hardened and compliance-focused deployments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform automation roles.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or GitHub Actions and Git-based branching, tagging, and release workflows.
  • Experience deploying cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux administration, Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience integrating SAST, SCA, or image scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, load balancing, or TLS.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or 12+ years of DevOps experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Cloud or DevOps certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, CKA, or CKAD, plus Security+ certification.
  • Preferred experience includes Flux, Argo CD, Helmfile, CI/CD caching and parallelization, Zero Trust, hardened container images, STIG, CIS Benchmarks, AWS security services, observability platforms, configuration management, and AI-augmented development workflows.
  • A master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, or a STEM field is preferred.

Salary: $78k - $176k/yr
