Responsibilities

  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS architectures for greenfield builds and migrations.
  • Lead systems design for high availability, disaster recovery, multi-account strategy, network topology, and performance at scale.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Architect and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Write production automation and tooling in Python and Bash, and contribute to Java or Node.js services as needed.
  • Use and critically review AI coding assistants for infrastructure, scripting, documentation, and troubleshooting work.
  • Lead client-facing workshops, architecture reviews, and technical discussions with technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Implement observability with CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar tools and drive incident response and post-mortem practices.
  • Embed security and compliance into infrastructure through least-privilege IAM, encryption, and guardrails.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the team’s technical standards.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles, including at least 2 years in an architect or technical lead capacity.
  • Deep hands-on AWS expertise across VPC networking, IAM, Organizations, EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and cost optimization.
  • Proven experience designing distributed systems for scale, resilience, and fault tolerance.
  • Strong Python and Bash skills, with working proficiency in Java or Node.js.
  • Regular practical use of AI assistants and coding agents, with the ability to verify their security, correctness, and cost implications.
  • Experience leading client or stakeholder engagements, presenting architectures to leadership, managing expectations, and challenging technically unsound requests.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and containers or Kubernetes.
  • Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or DevOps Engineer – Professional certification, Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD, consulting or professional services experience, experience building AI/LLM capabilities into internal tooling or pipelines, and Azure or GCP exposure.
