Responsibilities

Deliver, operate, and continuously improve enterprise database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
Install, maintain, upgrade, tune, back up, and recover production databases.
Support high-availability database environments and ensure services are secure, reliable, scalable, and high performing.
Implement database security, patch management, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
Develop scripting and automation and contribute to platform engineering, service improvement, and technology modernisation initiatives.
Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, application, and project teams.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call roster.

Requirements

Proven experience in database administration, database engineering, or database platform operations in production environments.
Strong technical knowledge of Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with database installation, maintenance, upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability environments.
Knowledge of database security, patch management, access controls, and vulnerability remediation.
Experience with scripting, automation, or platform engineering practices.
Exposure to Amazon RDS and hybrid cloud environments is advantageous.
Strong analytical capability, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work across multiple technologies and stakeholders.
