Contract Staff Software Engineer in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose or verify the diagnosis of long-tail WebCompat bugs.
  • Write WebCompat interventions where appropriate.
  • Implement and land simple fixes, often with AI assistance.
  • Reproduce and triage incoming site-breakage reports.

Requirements

  • Solid web development skills with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Fluency with browser DevTools and comfort diagnosing cross-browser site breakage.
  • Comfort using AI tooling to accelerate diagnosis and fixes.
  • Gecko knowledge is preferred but can be learned.
  • Prior WebCompat or web-standards experience is preferred.
