Responsibilities

Design and continually improve Kubernetes architecture and help operationally manage cluster lifecycles.
Integrate new self-hosted and SaaS services and collaborate with developers on software architecture.
Manage Transit Gateway, Network Firewall, and external connectivity.
Own architectural guidance for edge and traffic management, including CDN, DNS, and TLS strategies.
Produce and maintain reference architectures, design documents, and architectural guardrails.
Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to establish and adopt practical platform standards.
Onboard services, establish connectivity, troubleshoot traffic flows, and maintain consistent networking patterns across environments.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering roles with demonstrated architectural responsibility.
Strong hands-on experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms in production, including autoscaling, node provisioning, and security on EKS.
Deep understanding of AWS infrastructure, networking, security primitives, managed services, VPC design, routing, and planning for scale.
Strong understanding of ingress/egress, Transit Gateway design, and private connectivity.
Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and influence multiple teams as a leader.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining architectural decisions to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Preferred: deep expertise with Kong or other API gateways and direct production experience managing Akamai.
Preferred: understanding of application design principles and EKS standards such as Bottlerocket, Karpenter, and Auto Mode.
Some software engineering background and experience with Python are expected; AWS or Kubernetes certifications are a plus but not required.

Benefits

Base salary range of $150,000 to $190,000 depending on level.
Compensation package includes equity for full-time employees and an annual performance bonus.
