Backend / Systems Engineer, Agent Infrastructure in Others new

Responsibilities

  • Build backend services and data models that track operational work, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Develop asynchronous workflows handling retries, timeouts, external events, interrupted execution, and failure recovery.
  • Create shared APIs and tool-execution interfaces with authorization and customer-data isolation.
  • Improve the storage, versioning, and serving of operational knowledge.
  • Strengthen testing and observability and investigate production issues as the platform evolves.
  • Design clear interfaces and deliver maintainable backend solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of backend engineering experience building and maintaining production services.
  • Practical experience with Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, with willingness to work across both.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including data modeling and transactions.
  • Familiarity with background jobs, queues, or event-driven processing, including failure handling and data consistency.
  • Experience building resilient asynchronous workflows and investigating production problems.
  • Experience with workflow engines, multi-tenant applications, authorization, FastAPI, or agent tooling is helpful.
  • Prior LLM experience is a plus but is not required.

Benefits

  • €80,000 annual salary.
  • On-site work in Berlin, Germany.
