Responsibilities

  • Administer, install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Message Broker, IIB, and ACE environments.
  • Deploy message flows and message sets across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Configure queue managers, queues, channels, message brokers, execution groups, high availability, and MQ security.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, operating-system patching, vulnerability remediation, audits, disaster recovery, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Monitor MQ, IIB, application logs, system logs, and operational environments to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Provide remote technical support, application support, troubleshooting, and 24/7 support for WebSphere MQ and IIB issues.
  • Create scripts and documentation for administering MQ objects, operational processes, and environment protocols.
  • Work with IBM support through the PMR process and participate in implementation, migration, upgrade, and architecture activities.
  • Support AI-assisted monitoring, observability, anomaly detection, compliance, optimization, and governed access to IIB operational data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science, information technology, or a related computer/IT field.
  • Experience administering WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Message Broker, IIB, and ACE on Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Knowledge of MQ installation, configuration, upgrades, fix packs, queue managers, queues, channels, clustering, and security.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, IBM PMR processes, DevOps concepts, security vulnerabilities, audits, disaster recovery, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Knowledge of DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Splunk, Kibana, AWS, and Azure.
  • Experience with SSL for MQ channels, digital certificates, key repositories, channel authentication, monitoring tools, and shell scripting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to new environments and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to contribute domain expertise to AI-assisted operational, compliance, and optimization initiatives while following security, audit, and governance standards.
